What is a critical path?

Modified on Mon, 3 Oct, 2022 at 4:52 PM

A critical path is a series of necessary tasks that must be performed during the turnaround, i.e. between the arrival and the departure, of an aircraft (e.g. Disembark Pax), for the latter to be ready to depart safely and on-time.

Each of these tasks can and must be related to either the arrival or the departure of the aircraft, and is either a instantaneous task (Crew at Aircraft) or a momentary (Boarding).

In the Backoffice, a critical path is linked to an airport, an airline and an aircraft type. It can also be related to a previous and subsequent airport, if you need to make a specific critical path for a specific route.
