What is a specific critical path?

You can use a specific critical path that applies in certain conditions

A specific critical path is a variation of an existing (parent) critical path that only applies to flights matching a set of origins and destinations you choose. It lets you adjust the minimum turnaround time (MTT) and tasks for those flights without changing the parent configuration.

A standard critical path is usually defined by airport, airline, and aircraft type. Sometimes that isn't enough, because the ground time or tasks needed can also depend on the route — for example, international flights, or flights arriving from certain airports or countries. In those cases, you can create a specific critical path based on a parent critical path, with changes that apply only when a flight matches the origin/destination conditions you set.

How to create a specific critical path

  • In the Backoffice, open the Critical Path section.

  • Find the parent critical path you want to base it on.

  • Select the + icon to create a specific critical path.

  • Set the origin and destination conditions for when it should apply.

  • Adjust the inherited settings as needed (for example, change the MTT, add or remove tasks, or change targets).

Typical use cases

  • Increase or reduce the MTT for international vs. domestic flights.

  • Add a task or adjust targets for flights coming from specific airports or countries.

  • Create dedicated setups for standalone arrivals, standalone departures, or Rest Over Nights.
