What are user positions?

User positions can be both informational and functional

Updated today

A position is an organizational attribute that describes a user's role (for example, Ramp Agent or Ramp Leader). With a standard AGOA setup, positions are informational and do not automatically limit functionality.

If your company has enabled Task Access Management, positions become functional:

  • A user's position controls which tasks they can see and edit in AGOA (for example, in Station View).

Positions can also affect visibility and editing of users in the Backoffice:

  • If a user has access to the Users tab, they will see only users with positions equal to or lower than their own.

  • They can edit users whose position is lower than theirs. For example, a Ramp Leader can view all users at the Ramp Leader level or below, but can only edit users with lower positions.
